The extract from butcher’s broom (INCI: Ruscus Aculeatus Root Extract) is obtained from its thickened underground stem, which contains the most valuable compounds. These include: steroidal saponins (4–6%) – such as neo-ruscogenin and ruscogenin, flavonoids, phytosterols, fatty acids, triterpenes, coumarins, alkaloids, and glycolic acid.
