Has strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties
Japanese knotweed, also known as: Fallopia japonica, Reynoutria japonica (R. japonica), Polygonum cuspidatum (P. cuspidatum), according to Flora Europaea, is well known as an ingredient in alternative medicine. The resveratrol it contains is considered one of the most powerful antioxidants, and its function is to eliminate free radicals from the body, as well as to stabilize cell membranes and repair their structures. Research confirms that it has higher antioxidant activity than vitamin E or C.* Resveratrol is classified as a phytoestrogen. Study results provide evidence that 12 weeks of dietary supplementation with equol and resveratrol may improve menopause-related quality of life in healthy women.**
