Supports epidermal regeneration and firmness, soothes irritation
In cosmetology, C. Asiatica/Gotu Kola is an effective agent against photoaging of the skin, mainly due to increasing the amount of type I collagen, the levels of which decrease in the skin with age. This effect was confirmed in a randomized, double-blind clinical study conducted on 20 female participants (aged 45–60) with photoaged skin.* As a result of six months of treatment, significant improvements in firmness, elasticity, and skin hydration were observed, confirmed by appropriate biometrological tests.
Some studies suggest that the use of C. Asiatica or its components may also be useful in the treatment of psoriasis and scleroderma (hypertrophic scars). Therefore, Centella Asiatica is a common ingredient in cosmetics used for photoaging skin, and also in products targeting cellulite and stretch marks.**
