A plant-based equivalent of collagen
This natural gum is a complex polysaccharide derived from the hardened sap of acacia trees. It is considered a plant-based substitute for animal collagen, sourced from Acacia Seyal. Used for thousands of years and loved for its wide range of applications, it is a complex mixture of calcium, magnesium, and potassium salts, as well as polysaccharides including arabinogalactan, proteins, and glycoproteins. This composition gives it moisturizing properties similar to those of animal collagen.
The Acacia Collagen™ used in our product was tested by an independent laboratory in a double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized in vivo study on a group of women aged 41–50. Skin hydration was measured physicochemically 1 and 3 hours after application of a cream containing plant collagen, compared to a cream with animal collagen and an untreated area, using a Corneometer on dry forearm skin. The cream with plant collagen and the one with animal collagen showed practically identical results. No intolerance reactions (such as irritation or allergy) were observed during the test*.
Thus, in vivo studies confirm that Acacia Collagen™ completely mimics the cosmetic benefits of animal collagen. This makes it an ideal replacement – a truly plant-based, sustainable, green, vegan alternative to animal-derived collagen.
